Student Opportunities: Musculoskeletal and Health Economics
Osteoporosis is a disease in which the density and quality of bone are reduced, leading to weakness of the skeleton and increased risk of fracture. Professor Kerrie Sanders is studying the immense burden of disease imposed by fractures in older adults through research aimed at improving the identification of those at risk of fracture, reducing the substantial risk of recurrent fracture(s), and improving recovery in patients with fracture. IHA has access to very large Australian and international cohort studies. Research findings will be transferred into clinical settings, and inform government support for policy and national guidelines on fracture management and care.
